NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Public notice is hereby given that the Springfield Airport Authority will receive sealed bids until May 6, 2015, at 2:00 P.M. for a project to install a Passenger Boarding Bridge (jet bridge) at the Terminal Building and replace a portion of the apron lighting and associated cabling; in accordance with the Plans and subject to the terms and conditions of the Project Manual (Contract Documents), at the Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport, Springfield, IL.
Bidding documents, including Plans and a Project Manual, may be viewed and/or obtained from Springfield Reprographics (www.springfieldrepro.com), 1620 S. 5th Street, Springfield, Illinois – at cost.
The project will utilize Federal funding therefore each Bidder that elects to submit a proposal to do the work shall be required to adhere to the Federal Provisions associated with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Improvement Program, including the submission of the associated Certifications.
Proposals shall be accompanied by a satisfactory Bid Bond or Certified Check payable to the Springfield Airport Authority in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid. No bid may be withdrawn without the consent of the Springfield Airport Authority. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond with surety to be approved by the Springfield Airport Authority.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish proof of Liability insurance, insuring against loss or injuries to persons or property occasioned by or arising out of the work to be done for the Springfield Airport Authority.
The successful bidder will be required to pay the prevailing rate for each trade or craft per the Davis-Bacon Wage Determinations (U.S. Department of Labor) for Sangamon County, IL.
The Springfield Airport Authority has established a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal of 5.4 percent for this project. A good faith effort shall be made by the Bidder to meet or exceed this goal in accordance with and as defined by the appropriate provision above.
A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held in the Administrative Office Conference Room within the Terminal Building, Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport, Springfield, IL, on April 14, 2015, at 2 P.M.
All bids will be opened and publicly read in the Administrative Office Conference Room within the Terminal Building, Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport, Springfield, IL, on May 6, 2015, at 2 P.M.
