In November 2016, The Chamber conducted an online survey to identify existing business ridership practices and perceptions regarding air service to and from Springfield’s Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport. The electronic survey, focused on business travel, was completed by 251 respondents. A link to results of the survey are on the Chamber’s website, and as you’ll see, the perceptions did not match the realities.
When you consider several factors, including the cost of flights, parking, mileage to other airports, and the value of your time, it is almost always the most economical choice. The airport website provides a tool called “The True Cost Calculator” to assist you regarding the true cost of business (and personal) travel as you consider the real cost of your travel. The calculator can be found at flyspi.com.
Eighteen local businesses made commitments to use our local airport during recent meetings of our Strategic Leadership Council and Chamber Board of Directors. We hope you will consider doing the same by completing and signing the business commitment form located on The Chamber’s website.
